An item in today’s Washington Post by Rajiv Chandrasekaran refreshes our thoughts on the fraught Afghan scene. On these rainy/snowy days such as we are having today, a good idea is to read these recent volumes to reset one’s perspective on the Afghan and Iraq ventures. Recent release, “The Wrong Enemy” by Carlotta Gaul sheds a bright (if unwelcome in some circles) light on the doomed American adventure in Afghanistan and the dark role “ally” Pakistan has played in the debacle.
